Event Details

Arrival

Please arrive early to avoid long lines entering the building. The doors open at 7:30 am. There is no coat rack or closet available. If weather permits, please do not bring a coat.

Entry into the Building

While additional security guards will be on duty to allow for more efficient entry into the building, all participants will need to pass through the metal detectors and all bags must be scanned through the magnetometer.

All attendees must have government-issued identification badges. Please enter the building through Wing 5.

Do not enter through the Visitor’s Entrance (Wing 3) or through the main entrance (Wing 1) next to the Smithsonian Metro Station (Independence Avenue exit) as this entrance is reserved for USDA employees only.

Lunch

Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring or purchase a lunch and eat in the USDA Cafeteria. If you do leave the building for lunch, please allow enough time to clear security upon your return.

Map and Directions

Directions Using Metro Rail:

Smithsonian Metro station on the Blue/Orange line (the Independence Avenue Exit is in front of the USDA South building by “Wing 1”). “Wing 1” entrance is reserved for USDA employees.

Participants in the conference should enter the building from Independence Avenue through the “Wing 5” entrance located in the middle of the block. All visitors must show Government photo identification.
